If you’re planning a road trip to the mountains or a relaxing beach getaway, chances are there’s a specialty coffee shop just around the corner. We’ve spotted these cafes outside Metro Manila that tick both boxes for good coffee and good ambiance, which are definitely a must to make your trip a memorable one!

1. Terra Coffee, Rizal

     

Rizal is a favorite among hikers and cyclists, offering a wide variety of activities and located just an hour away from the metro. Terra Coffee is the perfect spot to unwind after a rewarding summit or bike trail with its relaxing interiors and delicious selection of coffee, meals, and pastries. We recommend their Sea Salt Latte and Carrot Cake for the perfect pick-me-up after a nature-packed activity.

What better way to enjoy the fresh air in Rizal than with coffee? Surrounded by lush greenery is Tanay Highlands, a specialty cafe inside Padilla Farm. Just a short drive from Metro Manila, it’s the perfect spot to unwind in nature if you want to spend a quick day trip or a weekend getaway. We think this peaceful spot is best enjoyed with their Torched Marrow Bulalo and a refreshing Spanish Latte.

3. Halara Coffee Club, Pampanga

   

Right around the corner of Mount Arayat National Park is Halara Coffee Club, which opened just last year. The community-driven cafe offers a colorful variety of coffee and freshly baked pastries that you can enjoy for merienda or as a post-dinner snack. Try out their Halara Signature Latte with the Ube Danish to see what they’re all about.

4. Moon Cafe, Pampanga

   

Planning a food crawl in Pampanga? The province is well known for their rich cuisine, but the area is also gaining traction as a go-to spot for cafe hopping. Make a stop at Moon Cafe, located right by Korea Town. We recommend their New Moon latte, made with espresso, Oatside milk, cocoa, and macadamia. Why not pair it with an Almond Croissant while you’re at it?

5. The Lounge Cafe, Pampanga

   

Looking for something more low-key? The Lounge Cafe at the Granary Private Villas is a serene hideaway tucked in Pampanga, right by the Bacolor River. Relax and unwind in their shady and spacious al fresco area to enjoy slow days outside the city. Their Ube Espresso is a definite must-try for a sweet caffeinated treat.

6. Jungle Base Coffee, Pampanga

7. Cafe Aldao, Pangasinan

   

Cafe Aldao in Pangasinan is a pit stop worth making for your road trip. The cafe’s menu features the classics, innovated with local ingredients: Bagoong Pasta, Chorizo Burger, and Kalabasa Blossoms, to name a few. Stopping over for lunch? Try their Sugarcane Americano for a refreshing companion to your meal.

8. Pugpog Bikers Highlands, Bulacan

   

Take the family up north to Pugpog Bikers Highlands, a cafe restaurant in Bulacan. The cafe overlooks one of the best views of the Angat River, which flows from the Sierra Madre mountain range. If you also enjoy a delicious barbecue, their bar and grill opens from four in the afternoon till midnight. Try out their Cafe Mocha with their platter sets to best enjoy the views.
