If you’re a regular Purveyr Fair goer, chances are you’ve come across Plain Sight’s booth once or twice. This year, every cup we served was a reflection of years of hard work and a whole lot of love for coffee and community.
What started with our CEO Sean running the booth solo in 2017 has grown into a fully designed booth with a curated coffee menu selected especially for Purveyr. We sat down with Erika Rodica-Lee, Plain Sight’s Chief Marketing Officer to learn how the roaster has become synonymous with Purveyr.
Where It All Started: 2017 at Century City Mall
Turns out Plain Sight's history with Purveyr goes back further than a lot of people realize. The roaster was already part of Pursuit by Purveyr back in 2017 at Century City Mall, back when the fair was still a small affair.
Back then, Sean did everything himself. According to Erika, "I'm pretty sure it was literally Sean as a one-man show. He would do the ingress himself, serve the coffee throughout the fair, then pack everything up and do egress after. It's pretty crazy to look back at that now and see how much both Purveyr and Plain Sight have grown since then.”
Why Plain Sight Keeps Coming Back to Purveyr
For Plain Sight, Purveyr was never just another place to sell coffee. It's the community that made it feel like home.
“Purveyr has always brought together the kind of community that makes sense for Plain Sight. It's not just about coffee or retail. It's a mix of local brands, artists, designers, food, music, and people who genuinely care about what they're discovering and supporting.
We've always liked being in spaces where coffee can be part of a bigger cultural experience, so Purveyr has always felt like a natural fit for us.” Explained Erika.

How the Experience Has Changed Over the Years
In the early days, Plain Sight showed up mainly as a coffee roaster. Set up the booth, offer some beans, and sell merch. These days, there's a lot more and planning that goes into it.
“Now we think about the whole experience much more. What are people going to drink? What are they going to discover? What does the booth look and feel like? How do we make it something people actually want to stop at?
Last year, we had The Artist's Loft and created a Purveyr Blend specifically for the fair. This year, we moved into the F&B area and built an actual coffee bar, so it's another completely different experience for us.
I think that's what makes us excited every year. Purveyr keeps evolving, and we get to come back with a different version of Plain Sight too.”
The Plain Sight Coffee Gallery
For this year's fair, Plain Sight teamed up with a design studio to bring something new to life: the Plain Sight Coffee Gallery.
Over the years, the brand has built up a lovely little history of collaborations with local artists, so instead of treating art as just decoration this time, the team wanted to actually celebrate that history.
“The pieces on the walls are from actual past Plain Sight collaborations with selected artists, alongside a display of our coffees.
At the same time, this was our first time joining the F&B area, so it still had to function as a proper coffee bar. We served espresso-based and signature drinks, with occasional pour-overs. We also showcased our beans. One of the coffees we highlighted this year was our Oma Gesha, which we served and offered as beans as well.
We wanted the space to feel like a small gallery that happens to serve really good coffee. Clean and very Plain Sight, but surrounded by these colorful pieces that show another side of the brand.”

The Oma Gesha Blanc
Launched exclusively for Coffee Plz and Purveyr, the Oma Gesha Blanc is Plain Sight's take on the classic Mont Blanc drink. Made with osmanthus foam, orange zest, and Oma Gesha cold brew, it was a drink that balanced delicate florals with a zesty touch. Gesha isn't usually served as a cold brew, much less paired with other ingredients, so the team wasn't sure how people would receive it. But it was a pleasant surprise how open everyone was to trying something different. The drink ended up showcasing that there’s more room to experiment with Gesha than we expected.
Always Open to Working with Creatives
