What Is Gesha Coffee? A Look at the World's Most Sought-After Varietal

Discovered in the 1930s, Gesha coffee is a rare type of Arabica famous for its layered complexity and strong floral aroma. Because of its tea-like body and excellent cup quality, Gesha coffee became one of the world’s most coveted specialty coffee beans.

Beyond its refined taste, Gesha coffee is highly prized by the specialty coffee community because of the meticulous labor that goes into every harvest. 

Ethiopian Gesha

Consisting of the Gesha 1931 varietal and roasted to a light degree, expect tasting notes of jasmine, peach, rose, orange zest, and pineapple. Oma Gesha’s bright acidity is balanced by a tea-like body and intense sweetness. Best enjoyed as a pour-over, Oma Gesha is crafted for moments of intentional brewing, encouraging specialty coffee enthusiasts to slow down and savor the elegant nuances.
