Bonfire is designed as a steady introduction to specialty coffee. It’s made for drinkers coming from traditional, darker profiles who want something more considered, without moving too far from what feels familiar and comfortable.
This blend brings together coffees from Guatemala and Brazil to create a cup that’s grounded, approachable, and structured. The Brazilian coffee provides body and sweetness, forming the foundation of the blend. The Guatemalan component adds depth and definition, giving the cup more clarity without pushing acidity to the forefront. The result is a profile that feels rich but controlled, with no sharp edges.
In the cup, Bonfire leans into a fuller body with warm, familiar flavors. Expect notes of toast and roasted cacao nibs, supported by a soft, grain-like character reminiscent of oats. Sweetness is present but restrained, and acidity stays low, making it easy to drink and forgiving across different brew methods. It’s a profile designed to feel reassuring rather than challenging.
Bonfire’s role is clear. This is an everyday blend for consistency and comfort, especially suited for those beginning their specialty coffee journey. It performs reliably as an espresso and translates well to percolator or pour-over, maintaining structure without becoming thin or overly bright.
At Plain Sight, we believe that getting your coffee to you at the right time provides for a great brewing experience. We make sure that you'll get your coffees not more than 10 days from the roast date, ensuring the right amount of time for you to try it out without it being too fresh off the roast. We recommend brewing the coffee 7 days from roast and flavors will peak around 2-4 weeks from roast

Brazil
Brazil, the world's top coffee producer, offers a wide variety of flavors, from rich Robusta to milder Santos and unique Rio Minas beans. Major regions like Espirito Santo and Minas Gerais use advanced methods, including mechanical harvesting, but are now focusing on quality. This shift means better-tasting coffee for consumers, with farms increasingly prioritizing flavor and offering specialty options, ensuring a delicious cup every time.
Guatemala
Guatemala's diverse growing regions yield exceptional coffees, celebrated globally for their rich flavors. Despite setbacks like Coffee Leaf Rust, the country continues to produce high-quality beans, with innovative processing methods driving record-breaking prices. The industry's diversity, including smallholder farmers and cooperatives, contributes to the coffee's overall quality improvement. Cooperatives offer support and training, empowering farmers to market their coffee as specialty, further enhancing Guatemala's reputation in the coffee world.
