Most people have a life bucket list. Meanwhile, Den Ocampo has a coffee shop bucket list, where the Manila-based content creator visits any and every cafe within reach. As a self-proclaimed “serial cafe-hopper” since 2015, she’s crossed off her list over 300 cafes around the world, and she’s documented it all in her beautifully curated Instagram page. Den made a mark in the local coffee community with her page, becoming a go-to source for many to discover new cafes. Her content is stamped with a style that's distinctly hers: coffee-hued tones, with the cafe’s cozy ambiance and delectable brews basking in the dayglow. What’s even more admirable is her talent to produce these stunning photos and reels without all the bells and whistles of a professional set-up—it’s all done on her mobile phone. It’s because of her creative eye and passion for coffee that we invited her to become our featured artist at Plain Sight Coffee.
There are two types of people in this world: those who like their coffee hot and those who like it iced. Den is a fan of the latter, an iced latte as her go-to order when she tries out new coffee shops. "I find that a lot of people, including myself, enjoy sweet coffee from cafes because they're more approachable,” said Den.
“It also appeals to a wide range of taste preferences with its variety of flavors like vanilla or caramel, which is both indulgent and comforting.”
Cosmic Curiosities in the Jupiter Coffee & Merch Box
As our featured artist, she doubled down on her love for iced coffee with the Jupiter Coffee & Merch Box, a set inspired by Den’s cafe-hopping ventures. It includes the Jupiter Blend, Iced Coffee, Please Cap, Cafés in Plain Sight coffee table book, and a surprise post card.
Den was hands-on, lending her creative eye to the entire collaboration. She also shared her vision for the Jupiter Blend, working with our roasters at Plain Sight to come up with flavors she truly enjoys. “Working with the Plain Sight team allowed me to discover what I like and what I have yet to appreciate,” shared Den.
“We ended up with a blend that’s comforting and with a familiar flavor profile, because I want it to be enjoyable for both casual drinkers and enthusiasts alike.”
The result is a sumptuous brew that’s perfect for espresso or a pour-over: “It’s like a decadent dessert, like a dark chocolate mousse with a fruity red wine reduction, topped with crushed macadamia nuts,” describes Den.
A Cozy Celebration at Cafe Jupiter: Beyond Coffee
We unveiled the collaboration at Cafe Jupiter: Beyond Coffee, held at the HQ on November 10. It was an amazing turnout, with the afternoon spent showcasing the product lineup and letting attendees get to know more about Den and her coffee journey. Spirits were high as everyone gathered for a first look at the merch, a live demo of Coco Sugar Latte signature beverage, and an intimate meet and greet with Den herself.
